Sealers & Protective Coatings |
|
 |
Although there are many repair and restoration applications that
simply do not require a protective sealer for structural performance,
we recommend sealing most applications just to keep the finishes
easy to clean and looking new longer.
Elite Crete Systems hallmark sealer used
by contractors on nearly 95% of their outdoor applications. It may
look and feel similar to
conventional off-the-shelf solvent acrylic based sealers in terms
of where you would use it and how it is applied but that is where
the similarities stop.
CSS EMULSION™ is packaged and sold as a 53%
solid resin that must be reduced prior to use because there is a
moderate MMA (methlymethacrylate) content to greatly increase
cured hardness, abrasion strength, clean ability and overall
surface protection. It is easily reduced with normal oxygenated or aromatic solvents such as
xylene, lacquer thinner, acetone, aromatic 150 or oxsol 100 most of which can be
acquired locally from a general paint store (check with local
city, county and state air quality requirements and restrictions
before use). This alone greatly
reduces shipping and product costs because you are not paying to
ship solvent.
We provide a detailed suggested reduction chart
that can be located on the Technical
Data page of this website since there are many different solid
percentages depending on what finish you are applying.
Ideal for all types of decorative concrete, overlays, stamped
concrete, acid stained concrete, garage floors, warehouse floors,
broom finished concrete, vertical applications and more.
Advantages:
- Cost. Sold only as a concentrate, therefore must be
reduce prior to use. 5 gallons of CSS EMULSION™ produces 10 to 15
gallons of sealer at a fraction of the price of other sealers.
Typical installed square footage cost is between $0.09 and $0.15 per
square foot.
- Durability. Although CSS EMULSION™ looks and applies
similar to conventional off the shelf acrylic sealers, it is laced
with MMA (methyl methacrylate) to greatly increase cured hardness,
abrasion resistance, water resistance, UV resistance and stain
resistance. There is not a more durable single component sealer
available anywhere without going to polyurethane or epoxy
technology.
- Versatility. Because CSS EMULSION™ must be reduced prior
to use, contactors can create different solids content levels
depending on the specific need or application. We provide various
mix design ratios in the product information sheet.
- VOC Compliant Availability. CSS-V
EMULSION™ a
VOC compliant version of CSS EMULSION™ with a VOC level of 137 g/l at
25% solids performance and usability. Please check with local city,
county and state air quality requirements and restrictions in
determining which version of CSS EMULSION™ is right for you.
Disadvantages:
- Highly Flammable. Although CSS EMULSION™ is solvent born
and flammable once diluted with a solvent it becomes even more
flammable. Use only with adequate ventilation. Remove all flames,
spark, etc. from work area.
TECHNICAL DATA
WCS EMULSION™ is an exceptional sealer by waterborne standards and
a suitable alternative to CSS EMULSION™ for most residential interior
applications.
Advantages:
- Safe & Easy to Use. WCS EMULSION™ does have produce the
solvent off gassing and therefore ventilation is not required.
Simply roll or spray multiple coats and allow to dry.
Disadvantages:
- Not suitable for high traffic commercial or industrial
applications. Instead see SPARTIC-ALL™ RM.
TECHNICAL DATA
- SPARTIC-ALL™ RM -
Polyaspartic Protective Coatings:
Available as a clear protective coating SPARTIC-ALL™ Polyaspartic is
the next generation of two component protective coatings offering
benefits that simply are not possible with conventional epoxy systems.
SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is a high solids and no filler coating.
This product
is used when extraordinary amounts of traffic are to be excepted
and when the time frame to complete the application is small.
Clear SPARTIC-ALL™ RM is used to protect decorative concrete
finishes, interior custom flooring
applications, paint flake or colored quartz systems and industrial
floors coated with SPARTIC-ALL™ Pigmented. Pigmented SPARTIC-ALL™ is used in more industrialized
settings such as garage floors, warehouses, service bays and
manufacturing facilities.
Advantages:
- Strength. No clear or pigmented epoxy coatings are stronger.
- Fast Application & Fast Cure. Although the application is
similar to that of conventional epoxies, SPARTIC-ALL™ RM actually cures
hard enough in just a few hours that it can take foot traffic the
same day and be open to full traffic the next day.
Disadvantages:
- Non-Breathable. Because of the high two component nature
it will not allow vapor transmission for most exterior applications.
TECHNICAL DATA
Available in clear and
10 stock colors, the E100 Series is a 100% true solids, no filler
epoxy. With a cured hardness of well over 10,000 psi, this product
is used when extraordinary amounts of traffic are to be excepted.
The clear is used to protect exterior decorative concrete
finishes, interior custom flooring
applications and even accentuate the color and beauty of the
application. The colored version is used in more industrialized
settings such as garage floors, warehouses, service bays and
manufacturing facilities.
Advantages:
- Overall Strength. With a cured compressive strength in
excess of 10,000 psi, no clear or pigmented epoxy coatings are stronger.
- Ease of Use. Although this is still a two component,
chemical cured epoxy, the application is as simple as place and walk
because of the superb self leveling characteristics.
Disadvantages:
- Non-Breathable. Because of the high two component nature
it will not allow vapor transmission for most exterior applications.
TECHNICAL DATA
Very similar to the
E100-PT™ Series but with added protection from UV light. Available in clear or colored.
