Pre-Mixed Overlay Systems... The Smart Professional Choice

Pre-mixed overlays consist of three multi-use, pre-formulated products and are the basis for every decorative concrete overlay, concrete repair and custom floor surface our systems create. These products were created to take the guess work out of measuring various liquid resins or modifiers, specific cement types and the ever confusing sand shape, sand size, sand composition requirements.

With Pre-mixed overlays, all that is required is the addition of clean water and for the material to be mixed. That is it. And because all of the components are in dry form, additional components have been added such as microsilica to increase abrasion resistance, accelerated drying agents, water reducers and curing compounds which cannot be included in the old liquid + sand and cement mixes.

In the end, Pre-mixed overlays are much easier to use, save countless amounts of time during the installation process which decreases labor, increased consistency and provide a much more durable, permanent overlay with much increased versatility.

The three products that make up the Pre-mixed overlays are as follows:

• THIN-FINISH™ Pre-Mixed Overlay:

   

  • Skim coats, base coats or bond coats prior to the application of other finished applications.
  • Splatter textures and knockdown finishes perfect for residential & commercial pool decks, sidewalks and patios where an aesthetic decorative but non-slip finish is required.
  • Broom finish surface restoration where structurally sound concrete is in need of surface repair and rejuvenation back to the look and strength of freshly poured concrete
  • General surface repair under 3/16" thick as a better alternative to tearing out and replacing concrete.
  • Slate trowel down finishes where a decorative stone type finish is desired. Ideal for virtually any interior or exterior concrete surface.
  • Vertical decorative or restoration applications either sprayed on or troweled on to rejuvenate ugly concrete retaining walls, cement block walls and more.

• TEXTURE-PAVE™ Pre-Mixed Overlay:

   

  • Primarily used for thin stamped overlay applications ranging from 1/4" to 3/8" thick where the realistic look of stone, brick, tile, even wood planking is desired.
  • The perfect alternative to conventional full depth stamped concrete but without the mess and hassle of complete tear out and repour.
  • Restoration where deep fill, patching and regrading are required.
  • Vertical decorative or restoration applications on concrete or cement block walls.
  • Cast in place or precast concrete counter tops.

   

• MICRO-FINISH™ Pre-Mixed Overlay:

   

  • For creating a super smooth, steel trowel type finish.
  • Ideal for creating smooth, seamless custom flooring.
  • Interior surface restoration for repairing concrete floors that are no longer in perfect condition but an elegant stained floor is desired.
  • Vertical "venetian stucco" type finishes over concrete, cement block and even drywall.

  All of the above applications can be colored or textured to a virtually unlimited option list with any of our stain or color products to match surrounding exterior landscaping or interior design.

Primary advantages of Pre-Mixed Overlays:

• Coverage & Cost. Most contractors like to compare the cost of the material in package and sold form, not applied square footage cost. Unfortunately this simply does not give a good indication of the actual product cost once applied. THIN-FINISH™ for instance will achieve any of the applications listed above for about $0.12 to $0.17 per square foot.

• Performance. Most contractors think that all overlay type products are all alike. Sales pitches may say so but cured strength, wear-ability and long term product performance tell the real story. Because the our Pre-Mixed Overlays are all modified using a powered version of our legendary CPR1000 hybrid polymer emulsion, increased levels of tensile strength, wear resistance, compressive strength, cured hardness, water resistance and color retention are much greater than that of conventional "acrylic", "co-polymer" or "styrene" based overlay products sold by other companies.

• Ease of use. Again, most contractors think all products are the same. The CPR1000 hybrid polymer emulsion creates a near perfect neutral pH. This is unheard of in the decorative concrete industry. Although this probably doesn't mean much to most people, a neutral pH along with an engineered mix design allows the overlay products to cure more like concrete and creates unheard of product performance, texturing and application capabilities. Example; a typical "acrylic" overlay products takes 1 to 2 experienced installers 45 to 60 minutes to install a skim/base coat on a 1,000 square foot driveway. Using THIN-FINISH™, 1 installer can install a skim/base coat on the same driveway in less than 15 minutes.
